What comprises the rider’s seat? In Ride from Within,  the seat is very clearly defined as the 3 bone structures of our center, from which all true balanced movement originates. This is a new paradigm which leaves no mystery to the definition and application, which can be learned by everyone that inhabits a human body no matter what discipline or level of riding you are at. Homework exercises will help you identify these 3 bone structures and how they work together to allow you to move in true balance.

Of all the structures of the seat, the lower lumbar area of the spine may be the most misunderstood and unconsciously misused which results in tightness and lower back pain in horse and rider. In Ride from within, correct alignment and use of the spine becomes your greatest ally in freeing not only your tightness and back pain but that of your horse. Homework exercises teach you correct alignment and help you loosen up and ride pain free now or prevent it in the future. Correct alignment of the spine is a prerequisite to be able to rotate the pelvis freely in the saddle.

In Ride from within, your pelvis is the command centre of your seat. Discover, and learn to apply, the 3rd dimensional movement or rotation in the pelvis, this movement is a game changer. Your horse already has this natural powerful movement in it’s pelvis but when the rider does not, the horse does not and it’s movement becomes less fluid and disconnected.. You will not find this groundbreaking information anywhere else. Homework exercises teach you the “how” to develop the ability and apply this powerful movement on the ground and in the saddle. Not usually thought of as part of the seat, the femurs play a profound role in powerful and truly balanced movement as they are directly affected and influenced by rotating the pelvis. Used in combination with the rotating pelvis, the femurs are the source of many leg aids that are invisible on the outside and have a magical effect on the horse's way of going, lifting its back and moving with fluidity through it’s top line.

We have identified, isolated and learned how to mobilize the 3 separate bone structures of the seat. In Week 5 we learn how to put them all together to develop a truly balanced, independent and powerfully influential seat.
